Sexual harassment claims top issue for new RCMP head

Reports of RCMP officers enduring years of sexual harassment on the job has consumed the nation’s Public Safety minister’s days, reports Meagan Fitzpatrick of the CBC.

On Monday Toews said is concerned about allegations of sexual harassment made by RCMP officers and will be talking to the new head of the RCMP on it.

For several days CBC News has been reporting about people who have experienced years of sexual harassment on the job in the RCMP.

In an internal RCMP complaint, Cpl. Catherine Galliford makes serious allegations about misconduct inside the RCMP.

After Clancy’s report on Nov. 7, another female officer came forward and said she was also sexually harassed and that she was assaulted.
