Fire in Thrums destroys home

On Jan. 19, at 11:12 a.m., the Castlegar RCMP, Tarry’s Fire department and Ooteschenia Fire department responded to a residential fire in the 1300 block of Lookout Road, according to RCMP Sgt. Laurel Mathew.
“Upon arrival, the residence, which is a trailer, was fully engulfed in flames and subsequently burned to the ground,” she said. “There were no occupants at the time of the fire.
“The cause of the fire is not known, however no foul play is suspected at this time.” The Tarry’s Fire department and Police are continuing the investigation.
