The Kamloops RCMP is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in his early thirties who was found deceased when a Grey Hound Bus from Calgary arrived in Kamloops around 4:30 pm Wednesday afternoon.

An employee of the bus company discovered the man still in his seat while preparing to clean the coach prior to refueling it for the last leg of the trip to Vancouver.

Approximately 25 passengers were on board the bus when it arrived at the Kamloops terminal and all had disembarked prior to the discovery.

Police and the BC Coroners Service are following up on comments made by the man early in the trip that he was not feeling well.

Investigators located a variety of prescription medication and medical information in the man’s personal effects.

Forensic Identification Specialists were brought to the scene to conduct a complete examination as part of the overall investigation.

There was no immediate sign of trauma observed during the initial examination by investigators. Police will continue to treat the case as suspicious until an autopsy can be conducted to determine the actual cause of death.

The man is not a resident of Kamloops. Police are still in the process of identifying and locating the next of kin.

No names are being released.
