Cops give kids kudos
Castlegar police are crediting revellers with a safe and responsible grad weekend, according to RCMP Cpl. Deb Postnikoff.
“The Castlegar RCMP would like to take this opportunity to commend 2012 graduates for making last weekend a safe and memorable event,” she said. “From a policing perspective, police did not respond to any serious matters relating to grad itself. Although police were kept busy during the evening of May 27 monitoring traffic coming and going from a graduation bush party at Haul Road in Robson, the event was without incident.”
But she said there are others deserving of a pat on the back as well.
“Parents and family members did their part in ensuring their children were transported to and from the party safely,” she said. “Parents commented on how pleased and thankful they were to see police presence at Haul Road. This roadblock contributed to maintaining safe roads in our community as well as assisted in keeping our graduates safe.”
