Knowing where to vote can be confusing, and election day draws nigh, so District Electoral Officer Don Vinish gave us a clear list of where you can vote, in advance or on election day, in the West Kootenay District.

First, Vinish says you can vote anywhere in the province, as well as anywhere within the district, as long as you’re registered.

If you’re bedridden at Trail’s Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, don’t be troubled – Elections BC will be sending a team of two assistants, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., to attend each bed and help you cast your ballot.

Advanced polling places:

(All from May 8 to 11, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.):

Castlegar: The Royal Canadian Legion at 248 Columbia Ave. (near the Element)

Trail: Waneta Plaza, Unit 124 (outside beside the Red Cross loan centre)

Nakusp: Royal Canadian Legion, 98 4 Ave. NW

Election Day

(All on May 14, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.)

Castlegar: Castlegar Complex, 2101 6 Ave.

Robson: Robson Community Hall, 3071 Waldie Ave.

Rossland: Royal Canadian Legion, 2081 Washington Street

Nakusp: Nakusp Sports Centre, 200 8 Ave. NW

Trail: Trail Memorial Centre (downtown), Glenmerry School (3668 Carnation Drive), Trail Middle School (2001 3rd Ave.), and Warfield Community Hall (900 3B Hwy 22).

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call the District Electoral Office at 250-364-6108.
