Alcoholic beverages to beaches and parks?

Not totally out of the question after the Liberals gained another term in office.

According to attorney general Suzanne Anton the Liberal government is considering changed to the liquor act to allow people to bring alcoholic beverages to beaches and parks.

“Our government has an aggressive agenda,” Anton said in a statement.

“With respect to drinking on beaches and parks and that sort of thing, I know that there are mixed opinions on this and in fact, I encourage municipalities and the public to take advantage of our liquor review and submit their feedback.”

Anton said the idea is in its preliminary stages and is part of a plan to modernize liquor laws.

In 2012 the Liberals made changes that allows patrons to bring wine to restaurants, selling alcohol in theatres, and allowing caterers to acquire liquor licences.
