Witnesses sought in assault near boat launch in Slocan

The Slocan Lake RCMP are seeking assistance from the public after a woman was reported to have been assaulted on a boat near the boat launch in Slocan, according to Const. Alan Van Hussen.


“Police were called on July 21 just after 6 p.m.,” he said. “The female and the male suspect had since departed, police were advised there may have been several people that witnessed the assault.”


He said it is believed at least a couple of kayackers may have seen the incident, and acknowledged alcohol may have been a factor.


“Police are asking anyone with information on this matter to contact the Slocan Lake RCMP at 250-358-2222.
