Accident on Highway 3 comparatively minor

A car accident out near the weigh scales ended with vehicle damage but no injuries, according to RCMP Cpl. Debbie Postnikoff.
“On July 30 at approximately 11:50 am, Castlegar RCMP, Fire and Ambulance personnel attended a vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer and an SUV. The SUV was stopped at the intersection of Columbia Road and Highway 3, where it attempted to turn left onto`the highway.
“The SUV failed to yield to a Chambers Chip truck that was traveling west on Hwy 3. There were no injuries reported, however the SUV had extensive damage.
“The driver of the SUV was issued a violation ticket for failing to yield to a vehicle, contrary to Section 127 (1)(a)(iii) of the Motor Vehicle Act which holds a $167 fine. “
