Motorcyclist dies in Nelson crash

A man died after a motorcycle crash early this morning, according to the Nelson Police Department Sgt. Janet Scott-Pryke.
“On Aug. 13, at approximately 2 a.m., Nelson Police were notified of a possible motor vehicle accident in the area of Kootenay Lake Hospital,” she said in a press release issued today.
“Nelson members attended the area immediately and located the accident scene. The accident was a single vehicle accident involving a motorcycle.”
She said members found the rider and administered emergency medical care until ambulance and Nelson Fire services arrived.
“The rider was transported to Kootenay Lake Hospital by EHS where he succumbed to his injuries,” she said. “At this time the name of the rider is being withheld pending notification of family.
“Nelson Police, along with the assistance of the Nelson RCMP Integrated Collision Analyst, are continuing their investigation as to the cause of the motor vehicle accident.”
