Castlegar teen in police custody after drunkenly driving vehicle into Robson Fire Hall

A Castlegar teen is facing a laundry list of charges after driving his vehicle into the back of the Robson Fire Hall on Tuesday, according to RCMP Sgt. Laurel Mathew.
“On Aug. 20, at 11:22 p.m, Castlegar RCMP members responded to an injury accident in which a vehicle with four occupants had allegedly driven through a private picket fence and then into the Robson Fire Hall, causing substantial damage to both the fence and the side of the fire hall,” she said. “One passenger was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“A 19-year-old Castlegar man remains in custody facing several charges: Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm; Impaired driving causing bodily harm; Driving while over .08; twocounts of mischief to property and Breach of Probation.”
Mathew said the man will next appear in court on Aug. 29 in Castlegar.
