UPDATED: Man caught in avalanche died trying to help another snowmobiler

A story on the CBC website said the Alberta man killed in an avalanche Saturday near Revelstoke died saving another snowmobiler, his widow says.
The story said Chris McCoy was crusing on Boulder Mountain when the avalanche struck around 1:30 p.m. PT.
The Sylvain Lake man had apparently gotten off his snowmobile to help another rider who was stuck when the avalanche hit.
McCoy, the general manager of Cycle Works in Red Deer had just turned 36 on Friday, was unconscious when found but later died from his injuries.
A second man was also caught but survived with non-life threatening injuries.
McCoy had been in Valemount testing new snowmobiles for work before moving on to Revelstoke.
McCoy is the second snowmobiler to die in an avalanche death in B.C. In January a man was caught in an avalanche south of Valemont, B.C.
Alberta snowmobiler killed in avalanche
Revelstoke RCMP report a man snowmobiling near the Boulder Mountain Snowmobile cabin outside Revelstoke has died after being involved in an avalanche.
RCMP and local Search and Rescue were called to a report of an avalanche on Boulder Mountain at approximately 3:30 pm on Saturday (February 15).
RCMP advise that the mountain was extremely busy with numerous snowmobilers.
A group of four snowmobilers from Alberta were near the Boulder Mountain Snowmobile cabin when an avalanche was triggered.
Two of the males were caught in the avalanche and were later located by Search and Rescue Crews.
A 35-year-old male was found to be unconscious but later succumbed to his injuries.
The second male survived with non life threatening injuries. All snowmobilers were equipped with appropriate safety gear and beacons.
The BC Coroner Service was called to the scene and have since taken jurisdiction of this tragic incident.
