UPDATED POLICE ALERT: No foul play suspected in disappearance of Nelson woman

Nelson Police Department do not suspect foul play in the case of Jade Giesen, missing since 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Sergeant Janet Scott-Pryke of the Nelson Police Department said in a press release “Nelson Police does not suspect foul play as a factor in Ms. Giesen’s disappearance, but has concern for her welfare.”

Sergeant Scott-Pryke said Giesen was last seen walking on the Burlington Northern rail bed, toward Troup Beach north of Nelson on south side of Kootenay Lake. 

Police said Nelson Search and Rescue have searched this area with no success of finding the missing 47-year-old Giesen.

Jade Giesen is caucasian, 5’4”, 115 pounds, with blond long thick dreadlocks. 

She was last seen wearing a waist length green coat; an oversized purse over her should cover in white goat hair, pants, and blue runners.

The Nelson Police Department is asking if anyone sees Ms. Giesen or has information on this matter to call the police immediately at  250-354-3919.
 
URGENT POLICE ALERT: No leads into disappearance of Nelson woman

Nelson Police continue to ask for public assistance into the disappearance of a Nelson woman, 47-year-old, Jade Giesen.

Sergeant Janet Scott-Pryke of the Nelson Police Department told The Nelson Daily Search and Rescue personal were called out Tuesday evening and Wednesday to conduct a search of possible areas police believe Giesen may have been.

However, SARS teams turned up nothing.

Sergeant Scott-Pryke said police would re-assess their investigation Thursday.

Giesen is Caucasian, 5’4”, 115 pounds with blond long thick dreadlocks.

She is wearing a waist length green coat; an oversized purse over her should cover in white goat hair, pants, and blue runners.

Nelson Police Department is asking if anyone sees Giesen in the area to call the police immediately at 250-354-3919.

URGENT POLICE ALERT: Missing Nelson woman

Nelson Police Department needs the public’s assistance to help find 47-year-old, Jade Giesen of Nelson, BC.

On April 6, at 10:15 a.m., Giesen was last seen walking on a trail at Central School, on Stanley Street.

Giesen is familiar with and regularly visits parks, beaches and wooded areas.

Nelson Police will continue searching the local area today.

Search and rescue personal were seen patrolling Kootenay River near Taghum Tuesday evening looking for Giesen.
