Trail RCMP report man who left KBRH against doctors orders located late Saturday night

RCMP has good news in the case of a man who left the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Saturday afternoon against doctors orders.

Trail RCMP report that Alex Willness, 19, was found late Saturday night in the Trail area.

Willness had left the hospital early Saturday afternoon.

Trail RCMP released a bulletin to local media for public assistance Saturday evening after conducting an area search.

Police searching for man who left KBRH against doctors orders Saturday

Trail RCMP are actively searching for a young man who left the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Saturday afternoon.

Alex Willness, 19, left the hospital at 12:10 p.m. against doctors orders.

KBRH staff contacted the RCMP for assistance in finding Willness.

An area search was conducted immediately and an RCMP Dog Unit was also brought in to assist with that search. 

It is believed that Willness ran into an East Trail neighbourhood, but has not been seen since.

Willness is described as being approx 6’4″ and of very slim build with short blond hair cut into a crew cut style and blue eyes. 

He was last seen wearing a black and red hoody sweater with the word ‘Crew’ written on the front, jeans and black running shoes with orange accents. 

Willness, who does not have family in the Trail area, could be trying to return to Castlegar area.

There is concern for Willness’ health which has prompted this request for police and public assistance. 

Anyone with information or who may have seen Willness is asked to contact the local RCMP Detachment or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
