COMMENT: Greetings from new nominee for NDP candidate

Dear fellow New Democrat,
I am pleased to announce my official status as a nominee in the bid to become your New Democratic Party (NDP) candidate in the next federal election. I am very excited about this opportunity and I thank the NDP and the riding association for the prospect to seek the nomination to represent the new federal riding, South Okanagan West Kootenay.
For those who might not know me, I can assure that I offer proven experience as an elected government official, a strong work ethic with 28 years as a longstanding New Democrat activist. I promise that you can count on me to do the best job possible representing your interests.
I have a strong and committed background to NDP values. Like fellow New Democrats my passion is to ensure the security of our healthcare, our families, our water and environment, our food production, our pensions and our nation. I have been a long outspoken advocate on issues of social justice and I have a deep concern for the state of democracy in our country. I deeply care about the future security of these issues which are all under attack by Mr. Harper and his conservative government.
I hope to meet each of you over the following weeks, if not in person, on your doorstep, on the telephone or at a local gathering place (watch for announcements). I want you to know I am only a phone call away if you want to speak with me. I am a good listener and I am interested in hearing from you.
At this time I ask that you support me in becoming your voice on the federal campaign trail and eventually in Ottawa to continue Alex (Atamanenko’s) good work. The ballots will be in the mail soon! Please mark them and mail them back right away! Make your vote count!
