LETTER: Trustee comments on Blueberry Creek School meeting

To the Editor,
I am writing this comment /response to the October 23 article “Meeting on Fate of Blueberry Creek School Draws Hundreds” written by Kyra Hoggan.
The article describes the large turnout of people and the almost unanimous opinion that the School Board sell the Blueberry Community School to the Society for the sum of $1. This would allow the Society to continue the non-profit assistance it performs for our schools and community.
I was very impressed by the size and quality of the discussion of the meeting. I would like to thank all those who came out. Your voice has a good effect on the decision-making of the School Board.
I would especially thank Ms Rebecca McDonnell, Blueberry Creek Community Liaison, for the wonderful job of organizing the meeting that gave the clear opinion of the community to the School Board. Although many individuals have worked hard to keep this facility open, Rebecca’s continual efforts need to be recognized.
