The You can do that here! podcast is produced by Andrew Zwicker of AZcreative for the Kootenay Association for Science and Technology. The podcast is a weekly series of 30 minute conversations with some of the most innovative and successful entrepreneurs in the Kootenays. They say the best way to learn is to learn from the best and those that have been there and done that. We’ve saved you the trouble of sitting down with many of the best, and brought them to you online, on demand. For any entpreneur or aspiring entreprenuer out there, these episodes are chock full of inspiration, learning and advice.

If you asked most people in the world what they’d most want. I bet you’d get a whole lot of people saying something like “World peace,” or “Make the world a better place.” You’d probably also get a lot of people saying “Make a bunch of money.”

What if you could make those things (OK maybe not world peace just yet) happen simultaneously? What if you could inspire people to get off their behinds and get out living a fulfilling life? What if you could raise money for charity? What if you could do all of that and make a profit?

Enter the social entrepreneur who measures success in more ways than simply profits and losses. Mike Kent and Andrea Winckers of Rossland BC have gotten onboard the movement, and launched yodel.org, a digital platform for doing all of the above.

I sat down with Mike and Andrea to talk about their background, where the idea for Yodel came from, how they made it happen. We also took a unique turn down the road of making sure you live your life before it’s too late. We also covered a classic new quote of “If you don’t feel like you’re going to puke all the time, you’re probably not living close enough to the edge.”

Oh yeah, they also yodel in the intro, so that alone is worth checking out.
