NPD advise public of wolves reported in Rosemont

Nelson Police are advising the public to be on alert after the department received a report overnight that three wolves being sighted in the Rosemont area. 

The complainant the wolves were observed at approximately 5 p.m. and that the wolves were chasing a deer at the time.

The Nelson Police Department would like to remind the public that if you come into contact with a wolf that does not run away, stay calm, raise your voice and make yourself appear larger than you are by raising your arms in the air.  Throw sticks or rocks to scare the wolf away, back away slowly, and do not turn your back to the wolf.
