Rewarding employment is just around the corner. The Selkirk College Career & Education Fair provides valuable connections for students and community members to help them along the pathway to success.

The annual event takes place Thursday, March 3 on the Castlegar Campus and features more than 50 exhibitors.

“Our goal is to bring together careers and the education that can lead to those rewarding careers,” says Education Recruitment Specialist Aimie Chernoff.

“The fair is free to attend and is open to absolutely everyone. We encourage not only job seekers to attend but also high school students and parents, and those looking into post-secondary programs.”

The fair runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in The Pit on the Castlegar Campus with exhibitors such as Fortis, the RCMP and BC Ambulance alongside Selkirk College program tables.

Talking with Selkirk College faculty and staff can help solidify career goals and establish a plan for achieving them, while making face-to-face connections with employers from companies that are hiring right now gives job seekers an edge.

“We try to recruit exhibitors from all industry areas and we have a great variety this year,” Chernoff says.

“Students looking for summer work will also benefit as a number of employers have summer positions available.”
