What are you doing on Saturday, May 14? No plans yet? Well, have the Dam City Rollers got a killer evening planned, and they want you to enjoy it with them. The ladies in purple are hosting a three-team tournament at Selkirk College in Castlegar.

Doors open at 6 p.m., first whistle is at 6:30pm. Coming in to play are the fellow purple-clad team from down south, the Lilac City Rollergirls from Spokane, WA and the ladies in red, Avalanche City Rollergirls from Fernie. Both teams are looking for rematches with the Dams. Lilac City first played the Dams in May 2015, where the Dams showed them some derby love Canada style, however it wasn’t enough to take the win. In a rematch at Spokarnage in August 2015, the Dams showed their true colours and won. Lilac City will be the first to face the Dams in an attempt to dominate. Who will be the victor?

In the second rematch from last summer, Avalanche City will look to take the Dams on in the second mash up at 8 p.m. The ladies in red are looking to settle the score as the Dams squeezed out a win in a nail-biting, scream-your-lungs-out, smash-up, throw-down fight to the very last whistle the last time these two teams went skate-to-skate. Will Avalanche City claim victory? Or will the Dams hold back the flood one more time?

The evening will round out with the visiting teams going toe-to-toe at 9:30 p.m., while the Dam City Rollers mingle with fans and answer any questions they can about our amazing sport. The stakes are high, the energy will be higher and one team will skate away victorious. This is a night not to be missed

If all that action isn’t enough for you, Turning Point Dance Studios will be performing, there will be 50/50, draw, a barbecue, beverages and an after party at the Element Club Bar and Grill. Tickets are available at the door for $5 with a non perishable food donation for the food bank, or $10 without. See you there!
