Missing Castlegar man located

Missing male Norman Reid was located by the Search and Rescue dog during the local search of the area. Reid was conscious and speaking with the ambulance crew when they arrived. Reid was then taken to the hospital.

Castlegar RCMP and Castlegar Search and Rescue are currently searching for a missing male in the Downtown Castlegar area. Norman Reid, 74-year-old male, went out for his daily walk today, May 31, at approximately 9:30 a.m. from his home in the area of Third Avenue and Fourth Street in Castlegar. Reid did not return from his walk at his normal time and has not been located at this time.

Reid suffers from dementia as well as Parkinsons and could possibly be confused as to his identity and or location.

Reid is a white male, 74-years-old, grey-blond hair, 5’10”, slim build. Reid was last reported to be wearing a two-tone grey jacket with black pants and possibly a baseball cap.

It is requested that if Reid is located that someone stays with him and the Castlegar RCMP are contacted immediately at 250-365-7721.
