No one injured in early-morning fire in Montrose
No one was injured in a structure fire in Montrose during the wee hours Saturday morning that saw 16 firefighters from Trail, Montrose and Fruitvale respond, according to Regional Fire Rescue Cpt. Ryan Smyth.
The fire was called in at 3:13 a.m., and crews arrived at 3:25 a.m. to find a blaze in the attic of a single family home on Christie Road.
Smyth said the family was home at the time, but were already outside upon arrival of fire crews. No other structure was threatened, and the conflagration was confined to the attic and deck.
He said the cause of the fire is still under investigation and there is no estimate of damages at this time.
