City of Castlegar and CUPE Local 2262 sign off on new Collective Agreement
The City of Castlegar and and CUPE Local 2262 are pleased to announce that a new four-and-a-half-year collective agreement has been reached.
The contract was negotiated and ratified following a successful round of negotiations. The parties worked collaboratively throughout negotiations tackling several issues. The Collective Agreement is reflective of the cooperative approach between the parties while providing vital, high quality, services to Castlegar residents.
The agreement includes annual wage increases of two percent as well as improvements to health benefits, service delivery and the contract language.
“We are pleased that negotiations have successfully concluded and believe that the contract will provide stability for our employees and the public” says CAO of the City of Castlegar, Chris Barlow.
“After a very positive round of negotiations we are pleased to have a new agreement in place that we believe benefits workers, the City of Castlegar and the people who live in the City of Castlegar,” says Jo Petit, CUPE Local 2262 Negotiations Chair. “We look forward to continuing to work with the City of Castlegar to deliver important community services to residents.”
