Winlaw's Rabi'a wins second Sculpturewalk People's Choice Award with 'Housing Crisis'

Housing Crisis, by Winlaw artist Rabi’a, has won the coveted 2019 People’s Choice Award, presented at the Castlegar Sculpturewalk Awards Gala at the Lionshead Smoke & Brew Pub on Nov. 2.

This piece will now stay in Castlegar, joining the City’s growing permanent public art collection. Rabi’a, in partnership with Carl Schlichting, had previously captured the People’s Choice award in 2016 for Imagine the Stories.

3rd Place: Lulu by Lawrence Cormier (Penticton)

Artistic Merit Winner: Salmon Cycle by Trinita Waller (Sooke)

Runner-up: Wild Thing by Heidi Hoy (Minnesota)
