I have lived in Castlegar over 35 years and my children have all attended our schools. I am involved in volunteering for the Castlegar Rebels Jr. B hockey team and Selkirk College as a billet parent, time keeper and scorekeeper. I also volunteer with the West Kootenay Kennel Club and for the Heart and Stroke foundation. I am the President of West Kootenay Labour Council and the organizer for the International Day of Mourning in Castlegar and Nelson held every year on April 28. I believe my experience working with and for the citizens of Castlegar will be a positive addition to City Council.

My priorities are to have more options for seniors including access to medical services, recreation and transportation along with affordable housing for all citizens. I would like to see more inclusiveness with the residents of our City by giving the residents a voice on large projects. I am also keeping in mind our environment and would like to go forward with a green vision such as inviting tourism by including more charging stations.

I invite the residents to contact me with any questions or ideas that they have to make Castlegar an even better place to live, play and work.

Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about me.

Sandy Bojechko
