Castlegar man found slumped over steering wheel by Trail RCMP
On June 6, at 1:14 p.m., Trail and Greater District RCMP responded to a report of a man passed out in the driver’s seat of a grey 2003 Ford Taurus passenger vehicle idling in the 700-block of Victoria Avenue.
A front line officer responded and found a local man unconscious and slumped over the steering wheel. The police officer, who roused the man, entered into an impaired driving investigation. He believed that the man’s ability to safely operate or have care and control of the motor vehicle was allegedly affected by a drug.
The 44-year-old Castlegar man was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition under section 215 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act.
