Toxic illicit drug supply takes another Trail life, prompts RCMP plea for precautions
Yet another local tragedy has police once again warning of a murderously toxic area drug supply, according to Trail RCMP NCOIC Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.
“On Dec. 7, at 6:04 p.m. Trail and Greater District RCMP investigated the sudden death of a 42-year-old Trail man which occurred inside his residence located in the 600 block of Victoria Street,” Wicentowich said. “The man was suspect to have succumbed to an overdose of illicit drugs; namely Fentanyl.”
While Trail RCMP do not suspect foul play at this time, they continue to investigate the matter. The matter will be referred to the BC Coroner’s Service upon the completion of the investigation.
The illicit drug supply in Trail is toxic and has a higher than normal chance of killing users. Drug users should avoid illicit drug use or take precautions to prevent their own death, like buddying up with a friend and carrying Narcan before use.
