Fireworks and Sky Lanterns banned within city limits

Effective at noon (Pacific Standard Time) on Friday July 15th, 2022, the use of fireworks and Sky Lanterns will be prohibited within the City of Castlegar.
This is in conjunction with the Southeast Fire Centre prohibiting Category 2 fires. For more information on the prohibition from BC Wildfire Services, click here.
Please note, only campfires are currently permitted within the City burning clean campfire wood on private property or in designated fire pits at Millennium and Kinnaird parks.
This prohibition will remain in effect until otherwise notified by the Office of the City of Castlegar Fire Chief.
