CP Rail trestle fire in Genelle

Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue responded to a CP Rail trestle on fire in Genelle. Surrounding trees and brush also ignited, but KBRFR crews were able to efficiently limit extension and extinguish the fire. The scene has now been turned over to CP Rail.
Captain Jason Milne said the call came in at 10:50 p.m., Sixteen firefighters from three stations (Trail, Warfield and Genelle) arrived on scene at arrived at 11:10 p.m., and the situation was resolved by 12;43 a.m.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
