Nelson Pride announces date, upcoming events

Save the date.
Nelson Pride will take place Sunday, August 25 to Monday, Sept. 2, 2024, in line with our 1996 Kootenay Pride roots.
There will be more details announced as the the event nears the August date.
In the meantime, we are pleased to announce two new monthly events for our LGBTQIA+ community and allies.
Monthly Queer Games Night will be running the first Friday of each month from 6-9 p.m. at the United Church. (602 Silica Street – enter through back door).
The event is in partnership with the United Church and is non-denominational, free, and for everyone ages 14 and up. Come and connect with our local LGBTQIA+ community and learn to play some new tabletop games!
Additionally, Monthly Queer Climb Night will be hosted on the last Friday of each month from 7 to 9pm in collaboration with The Cube. Day passes are discounted 20% ($12.80 for adults; $10.25 for youth/students) and equipment rentals are free.
This is a family-friendly event and children are welcome. No prior rock-climbing experience needed, as staff will provide a brief intro to bouldering. The Cube is located at the Mary Hall (part of Selkirk’s Tenth Street Campus) on Fell Street.
