Man killed in fatal single-vehicle accident near Beasley — RCMP
Nelson RCMP confirm a reported missing man has died in a single-vehicle accident near Beasley over the weekend.
RCMP said the file started on Saturday (February 17) at 11:35 p.m. when the Nelson detachment received a missing persons report for a 37-year-old man who had travelled to Nelson with his wife from El Paso, Texas.
RCMP said the man was reported missing by his wife after he had left the residence they were staying at in South Slocan and attended his brother’s residence in Nelson.
“When the male did not return to South Slocan his brother called Nelson RCMP,” the RCMP media release said.
“The next morning (Sunday, February 18) at approximately 07:49 hours, a friend of the missing male phoned Nelson RCMP to report the male had been involved in a single vehicle accident near the 5000 block of Highway 3A and 6 in Beasley, BC.”
RCMP said a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser the man had been driving was located approximately 60 to 70 meters down an embankment.
RCMP said the male had been ejected from the vehicle and was located a short distance away.
Police said that Emergency Services arrived on scene and the male was pronounced deceased.
The BC Coroner Service was notified and there was no indication drugs and alcohol were involved.
