Trail woman and children involved in a single motor vehicle incident
On Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 7:15 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer responded to a report about a 31-year-old Casino woman and her three children involved a single motor vehicle incident in the 2600 block of Casino Road, in Trail, according to RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.
“The officer attended the area and located the vehicle but not the occupants,” Wicentowich said. ‘RCMP Police Dog Services conducted a short search of the area after they were not located. The officer then learned from a third party that the woman and her children had been driven home after the crash.’
He said the officer attended the woman’s home. The woman was uninjured; however, one child was ejected from the vehicle and the other two suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash. The ejected child was hospitalized overnight, but is expected to recover fully.
“The officer observed that the woman’s ability to operate a motor vehicle may have been impaired by alcohol. A demand was read to the woman who provide a sample of his breath which resulted in a fail,” Wicentowich said.
The 31-year-old Trail woman was issued a 24-hour Immediate Driving Prohibition and 90-day Administrative Driving Prohibition (IRP) under Section 215 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act.
Ministry of Children and Families were notified about the incident.
The matter remains under investigation.
Trail RCMP, and BC Highway Patrol, is committed to investigating motor vehicle crashes and impaired driving to keep our roads safer. Expect us to see out in summer on your local roads and highways,
