Carol Reynolds: A Retrospective and Rosemary Manarin: Disparity January 29 - February 28
Kootenay Gallery of Art is excited to kick off our 2026 Exhibition Schedule by highlighting two
West Kootenay artists.
A retrospective of Nelson’s Carol Reynolds life as an artist will be exhibited in the East Gallery.
Known for her colourful oil paintings of landscapes and birch trees (including a mural at the
Kootenay Gallery) Reynolds has been a well respected artist in the region for the last number of
decades. Showcasing works in oil, paper and ceramic, this exhibit goes beyond the works
Reynolds is best known by exploring other facets of her creativity.
Castlegar artist and author Rosemary Manarin’s exhibit entitled ‘Disparity’ combines Manarin’s
love of travel with her love of painting. Through the use of a series of oil paintings, this exhibit
contrasts the economic and social hardship Manarin has observed during her extensive travels
to developing nations with the natural beauty of West Kootenay region she calls home.
The Gallery will host an opening reception for Carol Reynolds from 5 – 7 p.m. on Jan. 29.
