Smokies Acquire Cole Hutchinson from Chilliwack for Future Considerations

The Trail Smoke Eaters have acquired 2006-born defenseman Cole Hutchinson from the Chilliwack Chiefs in exchange for future considerations.

Hutchinson, a 19-year-old right-shot defenseman from East Lansing, Michigan, recorded four goals and six assists for 10 points in 33 games with the Chiefs this season.

“With recent changes to our defensive group, we were looking to add depth on the back end,” said Eric Thurston, General Manager and Head Coach of the Trail Smoke Eaters. “Cole brings a good combination of size and vision, and we believe he fits well with what we’re building as we push through the season.”

The Trail Smoke Eaters would like to welcome Cole and his family to the Smoke Eaters organization and to the city of Trail.
