KBRFR engineers rope rescue to save injured patient
“On Feb. 4, Station 374 Trail received a call to assist BC Ambulance Services for a patient who had fallen down a bank,” said a press release issued the same day. “Upon arrival crews found a patient with injuries that required a low angle rescue.
“The patient was handed off to BCAS in stable condition.”
Nine Trail firefighters responded to Riverside Avenue in Trail at 2:39 p.m., and had the situation under control by 3:30 p.m.
Rope rescue requires specialized training on the part of the firefighters who answer in these situations.
