Alberta man faces charges for trafficking cocaine
Nelson Police said a man from Alberta is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on a trafficking charge following an arrest early Wednesday morning near Cottonwood Park.
NPD Sergeant Dino Falcone said the arrest happened at approximately 2 a.m. while members were conducting a routine patrol in the industrial area near Cottonwood Falls Park.
"While members were conducting routine patrols, they discovered what appeared to be a suspicious vehicle with two people loitering around it in an industrial area near Cottonwood Falls Park," Falcone explained.

Flood Watch for Slocan River; Evacuation Alert for Slocan Valley West Road
The rising flows of the Slocan River has forced the Regional District of Central Kootenay to issue an Evacuation Alert Tuesday for residents and visitors of Slocan Valley West Road.
The BC River Forecast Centre issued a flood watch for the Slocan River, with a once in 50-year level expected on Friday.
