The BC Coroners Service is confirming that the body of a 19-year-old Quebec man who went missing near Nakusp has been found.

Zacharie Blouin, 19, went missing the evening of July 27, and was reported missing to police July 28.

“He was camping with friends at a forestry campsite near the 5600 block of Hwy 23 North, outside of Nakusp,” said Coroner Barb McLintock. “He went fishing by himself, which he did all the time but unfortunately, it appears he fell into the river.”

His body was recovered Aug. 7.

“Two people were going for a walk, and they saw Mr. Blouin, and were able to get to him,” McLintock said, adding they believe Blouin died the evening of July 27.
