With Come Find Me, Castlegar’s Country Music Darling Lisa Nicole Finds Growth and Success Through Happiness and Heartbreak
Award-winning Castlegar country music artist Lisa Nicole is excited to announce the release of her new EP – Come Find Me – available Sept. 6 on iTunes and LisaNicoleMusic.com.
The release will also serve as the kick-off to a fall tour of the same name across Canada in support of the new EP, culminating in her EP release party in Castlegar on Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. at The Element Club Bar and Grill.
Come Find Meis the second EP by the Castlegar native with a homegrown country sound and a true-to-life musical personality. It follows her newest single, Where Love Goes to Die, which hit the airwaves of Canadian country music radio this past summer. For Lisa Nicole, the EP represents her most ambitious and accomplished project to date.
“This EP was about telling personal stories from my life that I felt others could relate to – specifically my own journey of heartbreak, falling in love, and then ultimately finding happiness within myself,” says Lisa Nicole.
The title Come Find Me is especially fitting for Lisa Nicole, given the recent career upswing that has her poised for a breakthrough. As the winner of the 2015 BC Country Music Association and Music BC-sponsored Artist Development Project, she earned a songwriting trip to Nashville and a spot in the prestigious Artist Entrepreneur Program operated by Canada’s Music Incubator at Coalition Music in Toronto.
After completing these songwriting and musical development endeavours, Lisa Nicole joined forces with acclaimed Canadian country music producer Tom McKillip (Aaron Pritchett) and artist-producer Carly McKillip of One More Girl to bring the resulting EP to life.
“Winning the Artist Development Project was a life-changing experience that gave me the tools to discover who I really am as an artist and how to build a sustainable career. From there, Tom and Carly helped me find a voice and sound that really feel true to me. Come Find Me is the perfect gift from all of these creative forces and incredible experiences,” says Lisa Nicole.
Beyond notable professional growth, the process of making Come Find Me also pushed Lisa Nicole to discover new levels of musical honesty and emotional range – as exemplified by songs like the break-up anthem Where Love Goes to Die, the feisty Mad About It and the forever-optimistic title track. For Lisa Nicole, it all comes back to her lifelong love of country music.
She adds, “What I love about country music is that as a listener, you can relate to every word in a song. The songs on this EP capture many of the emotional peaks and valleys we’ve all lived through, grown from, and ultimately learned to cherish. I hope that every listener can feel their own treasured moments expressed through my music.”
Lisa Nicole will be touring across Canada in support of her new EP before returning to Castlegar for a special EP release party on Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. at The Element Club Bar and Grill. There will also be an all-ages soundcheck meet-and-greet party at 2 p.m.
