Community Futures Central Kootenay is pleased to recognize Charlotte Ferreux for her volunteer work in Castlegar and the Central Kootenay.

Ferreux is a small business owner based in Castlegar. She is Vice-Chair of the Community Futures Central Kootenay (CFCK) Board of Directors, and was recently elected to the Community Futures British Columbia (CFBC) Board of Directors.

Ferreux was first introduced to Community Futures as a client of the Self Employment Program, which helps aspiring entrepreneurs to start their own business. Through the program, Charlotte launched her coaching business, Thrive Coaching & Consulting. Working primarily online, Charlotte provides high performance coaching, leadership training and inspiration to clients globally.

Though her business is online, her heart is very much in the local community.

“Charlotte is an engaged member of her community who brings entrepreneurial, leadership, human resources and online skills to our Board,” said Andrea Wilkey, Executive Director of CFCK.

Andrea, along with CFBC Executive Director Cheryl Johnson, recognized Ferreux with the Volunteer of the Year award during the Community Economic Development Forum in Castlegar on April 9.

“I was so surprised and really honoured as volunteering and helping small business in BC is near and dear to my heart,” said Ferreux. “Service shows up in so many ways and this is something that allows me to give back and help entrepreneurs get set up for success.”

Community Futures Central Kootenay is a not-for-profit community economic development organization, committed to helping people in the Central Kootenay region who are either operating or are planning to start their own business. Learn more at futures.bc.ca.
