Award-winning burlesque performers from around North America provide an evening of fun and fantasy

The Trail & District Arts Council and Déjà Louve present A Kootenay Vaudeville Affair on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in The Bailey Theatre.
A Kootenay Vaudeville Affair is an explosive event with some of North America’s most impressive performers from New Orleans, Toronto, Montreal and right here in the Kootenays. They guarantee to have you roaring with excitement!
Touring the Columbia Basin, a Vaudeville Affair will showcase an array of neo and classic burlesque performances to make you feel like you’re jumping through time and exploring new titillating adventures. From new teasers to established veterans, be prepared to laugh, giggle, blush, and celebrate the ultimate form of self expression, creative release, and exhilarating brilliance.
Jeez Loueez, The Honey Badger of Burlesque, is an award-winning powerhouse of modern burlesque based in New Orleans. A skilled improviser with impeccable comedic timing, she’s been hailed as a cabaret legend. Awarded the Queen of the Striptease at the New Orleans Teaser Festival and voted the number 1 burlesque figure in the world for 2 consecutive years, she was named one of the Most Influential burlesque Figures of the Decade in 2018.
Kage Wolfe, Boylesque performer and the Director of the QTBIPOC production brand Kreative Kulture has headlined shows from Quebec to BC for over 10 years. As a queer award-winning performer, who is known for their on-stage expression of black and Caribbean culture, he lives up to the moniker “The Kulture King of Toronto Boylesque.”
Miami Minx is Montreal’s Queer Glamour-Puss-Tart, known for his scintillating spectacle of burlesque, drag, and cabaret featuring high glamour, beautiful costumes, comedy, and sexiness. He is the Princess of Striptease at this year’s New Orleans Teaser Festival.
Sucre à la Crème‘s cheeky and innovative antics have taken her around the world, from Halifax to Hiroshima! A multi award-winning Montreal-based burlesque performer, she was recently selected to compete for Best Debut at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender in Las Vegas. Voted “MOST ICONIC” at the Oregon Burlesque Festival in 2022 and “SERIOUSLY FUNNY” at the Silver Tusk Awards, NYC in 2021.
Déjà Louve, The Howling Heartbreaker, has been performing burlesque since 2014, when she was awarded Runner Up in Canada’s Bunny Competition. She has since prowled her way across stages all over the country and down the coast from Seattle to Panama.
Déjà is joined on stage by other local performers including fan favourites Backdoor Breena, Mz. Iris Wilde, Viv Hughan, LBee, Vivian Brass and her Student Group, as well as an aerial performance!
This Burlesque Variety show with a vaudevillian flair is a 19+ event that brings you a diverse cast of almost twenty artists to celebrate burlesque culture and body positive self-expression.
Get in the mood and dress up Vaudeville style. Put on a corset, enhance that derriere with a toile bustle, put feathers in your hair or wear a top hat. Get out that candy striped blazer and bowler hat. Maybe even a twirly moustache.

Whether you’re a shy newbie, a curious cat, or an experienced entertainer looking to try something new, Kage Wolfe will have various tools available to keep us moving, learning, and teasing. No clothing removal occurs during class and no burlesque experience is required. Dip your toe into the magic for just $20!
