KAAP's Adorable Adoptables: Ellie needs a special home

Ellie is a senior ( we were told 11 years old maybe a little older) 15 pound Chihuahua/Pug mix looking for a specific kind of home:
She shows signs of separation anxiety and needs someone that is home most of the time, and someone that would take her with them wherever they go any time possible, because she gets stressed when she’s left alone. An older person or couple that is home a lot would be perfect for her. She is not suitable for an apartment because she will bark and whine until her person comes home.
She needs a securely fenced yard or must be on a leash when taken out. She lived in the country before where she could go without a leash, but she may run off especially initially. She loves 2 short walks each day, and she really wants to sleep on the bed with her person and not in a crate or on the floor.
She gets along fine with friendly cats, and she lived with another small dog for years until that little friend passed away. Another small dog in the home might really help her.
Ellie has had a full dental recently, and she’s in good health for her age. She needs a forever home where she will be cherished and loved for the rest of her days. She is spayed and microchipped.
If the right home can be found for this sweet little girl, KAAP would consider caring for her medical needs going forward so that wouldn’t be a barrier to placing her in a loving home.
