Ten-year-old okay after being hit by a car this morning
A Castlegar 10-year-old remains comparatively unharmed after being hit by a car outside his school this morning (Tuesday), according to local RCMP. The accident happened on 7th Avenue just after 8 a.m., in the tri-school area downtown, said RCMP Sgt. Laurel Mathew. She said the driver, just a teen herself, did nothing wrong. Mathew said the boy darted out into traffic, making it lucky thing indeed that the young lady was driving slowly through the school zone. “She wasn’t speeding or talking on a cell or anything,” Mathew said. “She was still pretty shaken up, though.”
The boy was taken to the hospital with a swollen ankle, but no major injuries.
