Castlegar Summer Paving Program to start soon

The City of Castlegar’s summer paving program will soon be underway, as Transportation and Civic Works director Chris Barlow told city council at its regular meeting Monday night.

  He said the purpose of the work is to, “proceed with the rehabilitation of various sections of roadway, including associated improvements to the storm water infrastructure as required throughout the community. Additionally, the repaving of the northern end of Millennium Walkway was included in the paving program.” He said this may mean some disruption for traffic in the following locales:  10 Avenue – 6 Street to 9 Street; 2Street – 10 to 11 Avenues; 7 Street – 5 to 7 Avenue; Lynwood Crescent – Woodland Drive to Chickadee Lane; Millennium Walkway, no9thernmost to 1275 sq. m.; 10 Avenue – 23 Street to North end ; 21 Street – Columbia Avenue to 8 Avenue; Minto Road – adjacent to airport correlater installation; Southridge Srive cul-de-sac, and; Windsor Place cul-de sac.  Council voted unanimously to forge ahead with the work, which is expected to cost $471, 166 plus HST.  For more information, contact City Hall at 250-365-7227.
