CRU arrests local 20-yr-old for alleged trafficking

The following is a press release from the Castlegar RCMP Crime Reduction Unit:

On June 26 at 11:35 p.m., members of the Castlegar Crime Reduction Unit arrested 20-year-old Sean Welsey Anderson at his Robson residence after members obtained a search warrant for his residence under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Anderson has been charged with three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking after CRU members recovered drugs inside the residence, including approximately 13 grams of a substance believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine. Two other individuals were arrested at the time the search warrant was executed and additional charges against these individuals are being considered.
At the time of his arrest Anderson was on house arrest relating to a previous criminal conviction for trafficking drugs. Anderson was held in custody after his arrest and appeared in Castlegar court
On July 4, Anderson was remanded in custody for his next court appearance set for July 14.
The Castlegar and Trail Crime Reduction Units continue to aggressively pursue street level drug dealers. Anyone with any information about drug trafficking is urged to call the police or anonymously at Crime Stoppers.
