Kootenay Air Cadets return from Summer Training
Air Cadets from the Kootenay area cadet squadrons recently returned home to the Castlegar Airport from a three-week training courses.
Every summer, approximately 40% of cadets attend summer training at no cost for the cadets. Cadets even receive a small training bonus.
“The best part of the summer was launching the rockets we made,” said Cadet Matthew Bullen, 561 Nelson Osprey who was stationed at Basic Aviation Technology and Aerospace in Victoria.
“They went 600 ft in the air.”
“I really enjoyed the confidence course,” said Cadet Eathan Lovegrove, 841 Grand Forks Boundary, who returned from Basic Sports and Fitness in Vernon. “The hardest part was climbing the ropes.”
Other cadets included Cadet Lucas Wodyga of the From 841 Grand Forks Boundary squadron who attended Basic Aviation in Cold Lake, Ab.; Cadet Isaac Hakkola from 531 City of Trail squadron attending Basic Sports and Fitness in Vernon; and from 581 City of Castlegar squadron, Cadet Deannah Kaiser returned from Basic Drill and Ceremonial in Vernon and Cadet Zachary McLaclan was in Victoria for Basic Survival.
From 561 Nelson Osprey squadron, Cadet Matthew Bullen returned from Basic Aviation Technology and Aerospace in Victoria.
