Obituary: Donald Roy Hill, co-founder of the Pass Creek Fall Fair
Donald Roy Hill
Born December 14, 1927 Wolseley, Saskatchewan
Married to Irene Claire Buckley, they had two daughters, Colleen C. Mooney (Craig), Donna L. Smith (Rick). Two granddaughters, Jaime Madeira (Danny), Jessica Smith (Charlie Coleman), three Great-Grandsons, Lincoln Nash Madeira, Knox Logan Madeira, and Levi Roan Coleman.
Don worked construction most of his life, on dams, pipelines, road construction and paving. He could spend hours sharing his stories from WW2 Army training to the construction stories across Canada.
Once Don retired, both Mom and Dad joined forces with their youngest daughter and husband and created the Pass Creek Fall Fair Association.
When it was time to slow down, they sold their home on Broadwater Road and moved into Castlewood.
Mom passed away August 22, 2022, Dad stayed at Castlewood until he fell and was moved to Castleview.
We would like to thank the staff at Castlewood, Castleview and Dr. Ellen Smart for the care they have given Dad.
There will be a service for Dad on August 4, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Robson Hall. Everyone is welcome, join us for a light lunch. The family will attend the interment at the Robson Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
