Natural Swimming Ponds at Millennium Park Reopen
The natural swimming ponds at Castlegar’s Millennium Park have reopened following a temporary closure.
The ponds were closed Wednesday, August 14 after crews noted water quality concerns and closed the ponds as a precautionary measure.
Crews flushed the ponds with fresh water to improve their condition. Then, they took water samples, which were tested and cleared before the ponds reopened.
The City follows the Canadian Recreational Water Guidelines, regularly tests the water quality of natural ponds, and submits the results to the Interior Health Authority for review.
