Dam Inn Mates survived a late scare from the Thundercats to get past Trail 25-17 in West Kootenay Men’s Flag Football League action Sunday at Mount Sentinel Field.

The victory keeps the Mates atop the WKMFFL standings with an undefeated mark of 4-0.

Nelson Our Glass Ogs kept up the pressure on the Mates by blasting defending league champion Castlegar Vikings.

Our Glass is second in league standings with the same amount of points — eight — but has played one more game with a record of 4-1.

The league resumes Sunday with a pair of games at Mount Sentinel.

At 11 a.m. Rossland Flying Steamshovel Brewers tackle Trail Thundercats while the Mates face Castlegar Vikings at 1 p.m. The game between Castlegar and the Mates is a rematch of last year’s league final won by the Vikings.
