Kootenay Shimmy Mob wants community to Get Down and Shimmy

Time to get down and Shimmy.

The Kootenay Shimmy Mob is out to bring joy of dance to the community and raise awareness and funds for abused women and children shelters in the area.

The fundraiser event is scheduled for three different times in Nelson, Castlegar and as part of Silver City Days in Trail on Saturday, May 12.

Participants are gathering donations for the Aimee Beaulieu Transition House in Nelson; Safe Homes Program in Castlegar and WINS Transition House in Trail.

Times are 11:45 a.m. at the Garden Festival and 1-1:30 p.m. at the Chalko Mika Mall in Nelson; 2:30 p.m. at Canadian Tire in Castlegar and during Trail’s Silver City Days.
