Nelson hammers Castlegar 8-0 in KIJHL exhibition action

The Nelson Leafs continued to shine in the exhibition season by adding another victory Tuesday night in Castlegar.
The Leafs pounded the hometown Rebels 8-0 in Kootenay International Junior Hockey League action at the Castlegar Complex.
The game was the first of a home-and-home series.
The win runs Nelson’s preseason record to an impressive 4-0 with the final exhibition contest coming Wednesday at the NDCC Arena against the same Rebels. Game time is 7 p.m.
In four games during the exhibition campaign, Nelson has outscored its opponents 24-6.
The two teams play for the third time in four nights Friday when Nelson travels to the Sunflower City to open the KIJHL regular season against the defending champs.
The Leafs return to the NDCC Arena Saturday for the home opener against Creston Valley Thunder Cats.
Game time is 7 p.m.
