Ice rally from pasting to pull out 3-3 tie against Greater Vancouver

After getting spanked 10-0 in the opener, the Kootenay Ice put on a better display in game two, playing the Greater Vancouver Canadians to a 3-3 tie Sunday in BC Major Midget Hockey League action at the Richmond Oval.

Trevor Van Steinburg of Cranbrook scored with just over a minute remaining in the second period to pull the Ice into the 3-3 tie.

Kardrian Klimchuk of Castlegar scored twice for the Ice.

Three different players replied for Greater Vancouver.

Carson Schamerhorn of Trail was in goal for Kootenay.

Saturday, Dante Hannoun scored four times to lead fourth-place Greater Vancouver.

The single point pulled the ice into a last-place tie with Thompson Blazers.

Both teams have identical 5-27-6 records.

Kootenay hosts Thompson Blazers for a pair of weekend games in Nelson.

Saturday, puck drops at 12:30 p.m. in the NDCC Arena.

Sunday, the game starts at 10 a.m. in the NDCC Arena.
